The Garden's winter royalty, Snowdrop
Queen and Evergreen King hold court in the shop each Saturday
and Sunday. At 3:00P they like to get out for a stroll around
the grounds. Kids are invited to tag along and jingle some bells
as the royal couple survey their kingdom from Perennial Garden
Way. And kids get to keep the jingle bell wristbands!

This fantastical recreation of historic
New York City is a family holiday favorite. Outside the
Conservatory the entrance plaza is resplendent with lights and
trimmings, featuring 80 spheres twinkling with white lights along
the avenues of honey locust trees. Miniature trains wind through
sylvan landscapes and historic old-town New York, disappearing
into forest tunnels to reappear running alongside beautiful
historic houses and the New York City skyline -- all made from
plant materials!
New for 2005 are re-creations of 1923 Yankee Stadium, the Van
Cortlandt Manor and the Rockefeller's Kykuit estate

Even the most famous building in town
dresses up for the holidays. The three banks of holiday lights
(green, red & red from top to bottom), illuminate the tower
November 22nd thru 27th, November 29th thru December 4th, December
6th thru December 26th and December 30th thru January 8th
On November 28th the tower is lit in
blue to mark the lighting of the UNICEF
Snowflake. One the nights of December 27th
thru the 29th the tower is lit with a combination of blue and white lights to
mark the first night of Chanukah. And this year it's all
interrupted by white lights on the night of December 5th for a

If you're in the museum please be sure to
take a walk to the Medieval Art hall on the 1st floor to
appreciate this gloriously decorated tree and its setting.
Surrounding the tree is a landscape created by 18th-century
craftsmen with the creche and depictions of village life among
hills, valleys, ridges and ravines. Jim usually gets lost as he
searches out details he hasn't noticed before and admires the
craftsmanship

At this great annual event, New York's
