Information & Schedule
The Big Apple Circus was
founded in 1977 by Paul Binder and Michael Christensen. It was one
of the first intimate, 1-ring circuses set under a tent to be a
hit in the US. The Big Apple Circus has become a holiday tradition
in New York City
Bello is back along with the
ever mirthful Barry Larkin as "Grandma." They're joined
by a troupe of performers that epitomize the creativity of the
Big Apple Circus
The Long Brothers
(identical twins Long Jun and Long Bin) are Vegas vets
specializing in hoop diving, contortion rings, double pole
climbing, ring and hat juggling and, their signature routine,
barrel acrobatics. Regular Regina Dobrovitskaya returns
with her high-flying, heart-stopping casting cradle and Russian
barre routines. What more can you say when it comes to Picaso
Jr other than "Ping-pong ball mouth juggling?" Yep, that's
ping-pong ball, mouth and juggling in the same phrase! Join
these with the stirring acrobatic routines of Tatyana Levoka
and Andrey Mantchev, mix in a bit of the flying
Aniskin Troupe on trapeze, along with the Curatola
Troupe's curious take on acrobatics and dance, and it all
makes for a wonderful performance under the canvas
Oh, and you can't have a circus without animals.
The Big Apple variety include Luciano Anastasini and
his Pound Puppies (Yep, all shelter rescues), and equestrian
extraordinaire Christine Zerbini. All
this plus a glorious assortment of supporting performers. It's all
hosted by ringmaster Kevin Venardos
