If you look closely at the

notice that the site referred to is Bike Week New York.
Yep, the program has dramatically expanded, with the main part
occurring over a period of six weeks, many many more scattered
through the fall. We're going to concentrate on the main six
weeks Main Events
Kicking off the celebration is
Bike New York the great five-Boro Bike Tour
from Battery Park City, up through the
Bronx, back down through Queens and Brooklyn, over the Verrazano-Narrows
Bridge to Staten Island. An exhilarating 42-mile ride on a great
Spring day The 4-day
Bicycle Film Festival
started what might have been a first for New York a few years
ago--valet bicycle parking. You've gotta' love it
Rides & Races
During the spring and summer you
can find a ride in or around New York City just about any day,
any time The
Five Borough
Bicycle Club sponsors the Montauk Century May 21st and a
series of training rides leading up to it
Weekday Cyclists in NYC
has regular Tuesday rides through Central Park and Thursday
destination rides to points in and around the City with a couple
of special rides thrown in for good measure.
Gotham Bikes
Wednesday night rides usually go to the George Washington
Bridge, Central Park or Prospect Park; Thursday nights feature
team rides around Central Park. The
Staten Island Bicycling
Association sponsors a regular series of training rides and
off-island destination rides
Time's Up
sponsors a number of rides, among them the Central Park Moonlight Ride on May
5th; Free Ride to First Saturday,
May 6th; Prospect Park Moonlight Ride, May 13th; Cyclone Ride,
May 19th; the Folds Up! Folding Bike Ride & Festival, May
20th; History, Mystery, Murder and Money Tour, May 21st;
Riverside Ride, May 27th; and quite a few more
