The Great Hall at Cooper Union
is best known for its role in American politics and activism. From
the time Cooper Union opened in 1858 through the 1930s and beyond,
the Hall was known for political speeches, lectures, meetings and
debates. Today the Hall is mostly used for student events but is
also a venue for many music and dance performances that require a
more intimate setting
