Says A cozy, comfortable Art Deco lobby is the welcoming
feature of this newly-renovated boutique hotel. The rooms are small,
clean and comfortable, carry the Art Deco theme. Considering the
size of the rooms the designers did a great job maximizing the
space, using the (very popular these days) earth tone palette to
enhance the light and give each room a feeling of airiness. Public
spaces are a bit bolder and the Art Deco functionality is a perfect
fit for a hotel of this size. The hotel's location in New York
City's Gramercy Park neighborhood is one of the best features. This
is a real neighborhood, people live, work and play here. There are
many, many choices for dining and entertainment, from little
holes-in-the-walls to neighborhood haunts to the best NYC has to
offer. You can walk just a  few
blocks to the Flatiron District, Madison Square and the Park Avenue
South nightlife scenes, downtown to the Village, across town to
Chelsea and just a few blocks uptown to Murray Hill. And there are a
lot of nearby subway and bus connections to whisk you around town.
The folks at the Marcel have made the most of it, this is a great
little spot for a weekend getaway in the City
