The tidying up of the Gramercy Park
Hotel a few years ago freshened the public areas and rooms of this
NYC classic, but did not hide the 80-year-old character of the
hotel. Now, Ian Schrager has taken over and is performing a complete
makeover in conjunction with condo residences at 50 Gramercy Park
North. The statement at the
Gramercy Park renovation site says that the hotel's past is
going to be honored as the renovation brings "Bohemia into the 21st
century." Schrager has a pretty strong track record in this
business, it's going to be very interesting to see how he applies
his inventiveness to this project
