Photo of Hotel 17 New York guest roomFirst off, Hotel 17 is not recommended for young folk, in fact, children under 18 are not allowed. This little New York hotel's claims to fame are fourfold: it was once called the Warhol factory of the 90's; Entertainment Weekly voted Hotel 17 in the top 10 coolest movie locations; and Woody Allen used it in Manhattan Murder Mystery; many of the rooms have appeared in photo shoots for some of the world's top fashion magazines. The location is great, E 17th Street is a fairly quiet street with nearby subway at Union Square that will get you around town in a flash and the Union Square, Flatiron District and Gramercy Park neighborhoods have a whole lot of great places to eat and party. A short stroll downtown puts you in the East Village and Greenwich Village; just a few blocks west of the hotel is Chelsea
