Susie
Says There's not a heck of a lot to say about this
property. It's a Comfort Inn. It's in New York City. It all sounds
halfway good except that we really don't care for the location. When
the Javits Convention
Center opened in the 1980s this neighborhood was slated to be an
area of gleaming hotels and hopping nightspots. Fifteen years later
the only hotels in the area, this and the Best
Western Convention Center, are in smaller, older buildings and
basically out of the way. This stretch of Manhattan from 34th to
42nd Streets is a light industrial and transportation center with
most streets feeding into or out of the Lincoln Tunnel. We are
frequently in the neighborhood late at night or very early in the
morning when doing work at Javits and we find it quite gloomy. There
is a nice stretch of small neighborhood shops and restaurants about
a block away on 9th Avenue and you can walk to the Empire State
Building, Herald Square, Macy's and Madison Square Garden. If you
absolutely have to be very close to the Javits Center this is a good
bet. If not, check out our page of other discount
