Wolcott is a tourist class, comfortable, traditional-style hotel
located in lower midtown near the Empire State Building. The hotel
has a unique high domed ceiling in the lobby with marble pillars and
crystal chandelier. Guest rooms are comfortable and well appointed,
with bold patterns and tapestry. The hotel staff is friendly and
courteous, with a willingness to serve. The hotel is located just
steps to fine dining, shopping and entertainment
Notes We last took a look -- a very quick look -- at the
Wolcott back in 1999 and at the time decided that the less said, the
better. It appears that the folks at the Wolcott have been busy
cleaning things up, adding services and amenities and garnering some
good words as a fine budget-oriented tourist hotel. We have not yet
revisited, but it sounds like we can no longer count this one out
