What Susie says about the Beekman Tower, a New York City hotelSusie Says This Art-Deco gem has been a New York City fixture in the Beekman Place area since 1928. The rooms -- lately, everybody wants to say 'European-designed' but we think they're kind of plain old traditional -- are very comfortable and a welcome sight after a long night on the town. They are very spacious and very well appointed. Beekman Terrace is one of the quieter Manhattan neighborhoods, home to older, small apartment buildings and lovely townhouses, many housing diplomatic missions to the United Nations just a couple of blocks south. We consider it to be within walking distance of much of Midtown Manhattan, but you might opt to take a cab to and from the Theater District and further points. There are many neighborhood eateries and pubs nearby along 1st and 2nd Photo of Beekman Tower New York City hotel roomAvenues. But you don't have to go very far for nightlife: one of the most popular spots on the Eastside for a bite to eat and a cocktail is the Beekman's Top of the Tower Restaurant; it offers magnificently romantic views of NYC along with good food and drink in a very pleasant setting. Service throughout the hotel is friendly and courteous, just what you would expect from a flagship Manhattan hotel
