What Susie says about the Crowne Plaza Times Square, a New York City hotelSusie Says  In the heart and part of the new Times Square, this Crown Plaza Hotel is covered in neon signage, signaling the bustling activity within. The busy lobby area is very spacious, with many seating and activity areas. The hotel-modern style of this full-service hotel is carried through its many rooms, though nothing special, there is nothing too much to disappoint, yet not a heck of a lot to get excited about either. I've talked with many folks attending or working at trade shows and conventions and the best those who stay at this hotel can come up with is "Eh, it's fine." Not a ringing endorsement for what should be one of the flagship properties of the chain

Their comments basically confirm my observations over the past couple of years. Some rooms seem a bit old before their time and need a bit of freshening up. Overall it seems like some minor touch ups and repairs have been put off. (We actually find this quite understandable as the NYC hotel market was in very bad shape the past few years. Things are looking up and as money becomes available we expect to see another round of refurbishing.) The staff folks I've spoken with weren't overly solicitous, but were friendly enough and tried to be helpful

The hotel caters to the business and upscale leisure traveler and offers all the services you would expect in a Crowne Plaza and does a Photo of Crowne Plaza Times Square New York City hotel guest roombrisk business with people attending conventions and meetings, both in-house and at Javits Convention Center, so there is always a lot of activity. Kind of fitting in the City that never sleeps. The location in the heart of Times Square and the Theater District is what makes this and attractive choice. Ask for a room on a high floor and you'll be treated to dramatic views. When you step out the main entrance you're immediately swept up by the crowds and -- yes, we still are -- enthralled by the lights and excitement. This Crowne Plaza is convenient to every attraction in Midtown; on a pleasant day it's within walking distance of Macy's and the Empire State Building on 34th Street up to Central Park and beyond; and nearby subway and bus will take you anyplace else in the City
