Note A simple list of services and
amenities is misleading. The least expensive rooms, at 350 square
feet, have the same amount of space as a large New York City
studio apartment. The floor space of a basic two-bedroom suites
compares with that of a small suburban house

Says We've walked through the public areas of the
Peninsula a few times, have attended a couple of functions there and
have had a couple of drinks at the bar. The hotel is as impressive
as all reviews have stated. It's one of the best hotel's in New York
City, if not one of the best in the world. Not the type of place
where we would have to ask to see if the rooms are up to snuff we
are kind of surprised at the very low-key marketing description
supplied by the hotel. Never-the-less, here it is:
"The Peninsula New York, a
23-story, 1902 landmark building located in central Manhattan,
re-opened on November 1, 1998, following an extensive renovation
project. Many of the original Beaux Arts architectural features,
designed by Hiss and Weekes, have been retained. The result is one
of modern accents on old world elegance for this luxury property.
The Peninsula features 238 luxuriously appointed guestrooms
including 54 suites and the Peninsula Suite. Guestrooms feature
deluxe marble bathrooms with mood lighting in-room silent fax
machine, oversized executive work desk, audio-visual system with
cable/satellite, direct dial 2-line phones with data port, in-room
safe, double-glazed windows and fully-stocked mini-bar. The
Peninsula also offers a fully-equipped business center, 3,300 feet
of meeting space, 24 hour room service, a spa and health club and 24
hour concierge"
