Susie
Says Where Susie had once said that "there is nothing
special I can say about this hotel," she now has to revamp her
views as much as this New York City hotel has revamped itself. Along
with trying to rebrand the property as the stylish "WJ" from the stodgy
and awkward "Washington-Jefferson," the folks who manage
this property have updated, upgraded and upstyled the hotel in a
sleekly modern look. The small lobby is strikingly different, all
marble and wood with some nice Art-Deco touches, very warm and
welcoming. Rooms are fairly small, some designed with the single
traveler in mind and accommodating only one twin bed. Doubles are a
bit more spacious and, at a good rate comfortable enough for two
people. We had said that "the
upscale brochure is much nicer than the property itself," and
it now seems that the reality has caught up with the vision. All
rooms have been completely renovated and redesigned and offer
stylish comfort at a good price. The west of 8th Avenue neighborhood
is quickly changing and their is a very lively nightlife scene along
9th Avenue with many restaurants, pubs and taverns of all styles and
price ranges. It's just a short stroll to the Theater District to
catch a Broadway show or do the sights and attractions of Times
Square. In short, if you get a good rate, go for it
