Says You won't see much in the way of fancy in-room amenities at
the Wellington Hotel, but you can't beat the price or the location.
This is an upscale property targeted to the leisure market and it
delivers just what a tourist needs for a comfortable stay in New
York City. The distinctive lobby is a nice welcome to the City.
Standard rooms are well, standard, nicely decorated enough in basic,
comfortable hotel traditional decor, clean and, if the price is
right, perfect for somewhat budget-minded tourists. Suites, if
available, are spacious for a Manhattan hotel, with a bit more
distinctive furnishings. Some include terraces and pantries or
kitchenettes. All the staff people we spoke with were very friendly
and very helpful. The Wellington is just across the street from
Carnegie Hall and four short blocks to Central Park, New York City's
backyard. It is  within
easy walking distance of all Midtown Manhattan sights and
attractions, including Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall,
shopping on 5th Avenue and family-oriented them restaurants along
57th Street. You can stroll up Broadway to Lincoln Center, or down
to Times Square and the Theater District. There's no reason not to
dine well as, being in the heart of Midtown, the Wellington is
virtually surrounded by eating establishments in all price ranges.
Nearby subway and bus service offer fast, convenient transportation
to all points in the City
