Susie
Says They've done a real nice job in remodeling this New York
City hotel property. As they say, On the Ave is the place
"where Upper West Side charm meets the elegance of a
full-service, upscale hotel." As almost always in NYC when
working with an older property, the rooms are a touch on the small
side; however, the designers were able to make the most of it by
using richly textured, lightly-colored fabrics which seem to open up
the space. The Alfonso Munoz ink and watercolor drawings complement
the sleek, modern edges of the furnishings. Bathrooms feature marble
walls accented by starkly modern stainless steel fixtures. The
hotel's staff is friendly, courteous and very professional. If you
want to experience a real New York neighborhood you can't do much
better than the Upper West Side. Columbus and Amsterdam Avenues
feature many different types of shops
and boutiques and dining choices ranging from neighborhood eateries
to great destination restaurants. On the Ave hotel is especially
convenient to the American Museum of Natural History and Central
Park (some rooms have views of the park or the Hudson River); It's
just a stroll across the park to the Metropolitan and other museums
along 5th Avenue; and just a short cab ride or pleasantly long walk
to Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall. Nearby subway can zip you to
the sights of Midtown or Downtown Manhattan in no time
