This is a great place to base
yourself if you want to spend a holiday exploring the seashore, and
what a fine seashore Brooklyn has. The Comfort Inn is located
adjacent to Sheepshead Bay, home to the borough's party boat fishing
fleet. For 40 bucks or so you can spend a pleasant half-day chasing
flounder, blues or whatever else happens to be in season. Manhattan
Beach, one of the nicest in Brooklyn is a long stroll around the Bay
(or a short car ride). Alternatively you can take a stroll through
Brighton Beach and into Coney Island. It's a bit of a long way, but
I try to do it at least once a year to keep in touch with my
Brooklyn roots. While in Coney you can enjoy what few attractions
are left, have a hot dog at Nathan's, hop on the Cyclone, or take in
a Brooklyn Cyclones baseball game
There's not much to say about the
hotel itself. It's strictly Comfort Inn style with limited services
and amenities. It's a good choice -- actually the only choice -- to
rest your body when visiting friends and relatives in the
neighborhood
