Ticket Prices $25 to $125 The Opera Orchestra
of New York stages concert productions of operas that might
other wise be little performed. Since its inception in the
1971-1972 season the company has staged more than 100 operas
rich in song. Favorite composers include Donizetti, Rossini,
Bellini and Verdi, though Wagner, Weber and R Strauss are not
ignored. Many fine young artists have made their debuts in Opera
Orchestra productions, among them Aprile Milo (1984), Dwayne
Croft (1987), Renee Fleming (1989) and Deborah Voigt (1991). The
company's debut recital program -- since 1993 the Vidda Award
Recital -- has presented many now very successful new artists,
including Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Olga Borodina, Carlo Bergonzi and
Francisco Casanova
