Says When we first visited the world's largest hostel
back in '99 we were a bit put off by the brusque, almost rude manner
of the desk clerk. It took a few moments for us to get into the
hustle and bustle of this 624-bed emporium. Wow! This Upper
West Side New York City landmark is alive with young travelers from
all over the globe. It offers a great array of services and the
neighborhood has many inexpensive eateries and any other services a
traveler might need. The hostel is within walking distance of
Columbia University and within convenient reach of City College.
Nearby subway will quickly zip you to Midtown Manhattan attractions
or anyplace else in the City you would like to go. Be sure to check
out the special rates the hostel is able to provide for tours
of the City
