What Susie says Manhattan Youth Castle New York City hostelThis is the vibrant "El Barrio," the largely Puerto Rican neighborhood sandwiched between the chi-chi Upper East Side to the south and the main Spanish Harlem area just to the north. An area of blue-collar, working-class folks, the neighborhood is filled with shops offering goods and services a traveler on a budget needs. There are a great many inexpensive places to grab a bite to eat. A string of taquerias along Lexington Avenue appeals to the many newly-arrived Mexican immigrants and those who just want a dang good taco. The Youth Castle is perfectly located for those interested in doing Museum Mile and the nearby subway will take you down to Midtown in a matter of minutes
