Highlights

One of the oldest organizations of
its type in the country, the Asian American Arts Centre currently
mounts about six exhibitions per year ranging through all periods,
all media and all areas. Some shows are issue-oriented, meant to
explore causes and effects and raise cross-cultural awareness;
others simply showcase current works by contemporary Asian-American
and Asian-influenced artists. The Centre offers performance events
and houses the Artists Archive, a repository of work by
Asian-American artists
The Centre also provides a comprehensive series of
Saturday art classes for children aged 4 through 14, mounts an
annual folk art festival to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year,
and offers lectures and demonstrations that highlight techniques
used in Chinese art
