Synopsis  The women of Thoroughly Modern Millie might not seem too modern today, but they were the cat's meow back in the 20s when women were starting to step out by themselves. Young Millie is from Kansas and comes to New York to enjoy everything she's heard about the Big Apple. The show includes a mix of 1920s jazz standards, new music written for the show and songs written for the movie version, including the still popular title song by James van Heusen and Sammy Cahn

TheaterScene Review

I am happy to report there is practically nothing new in this deliciously old fashioned musical. Its goal is to be entertaining, how unusual in today's "modern" standards. The show "suffers" from the crimes of director Michael Mayer's insistence on rampant enthusiasm from a large, youthful cast...

Notes  Thoroughly Modern Millie is based on the 1967 film that starred Julie Andrews, Mary Tyler Moore and Carol Channing. The movie was written by Richard Morris with original music by Elmer Bernstein, Joseph Gershenson, Andre Previn, Jay Thompson & Jimmy Van Heusen
