Notes A Day in the Death of Joe Egg made its Broadway premier January 26, 1968 at the Brooks Atkinson Theater. Zena Walker won a Tony Award for the role of Sheila. Albert Finney also starred. Joe Egg was revived by the Roundabout Theatre Company in 1985 at the Longacre Theater. This production garnered a Tony Award for best reproduction and one for Stockard Channing as outstanding actress in a play. Jim Dale and Joanna Gleason also trod the boards
