Doubt received a heck of a lot of press even before opening November 23, 2004, at City Center Theater, and the show was almost immediately extended for three weeks. Mr Shanley has authored a heck of a lot of shows, and this is his first to reach Broadway. According to the press release, Doubt is set In the 1960s, at a Catholic school in the Bronx, where a nun grows suspicious when a priest begins taking too much interest in the life of a young male student. Is she being overly protective...or not protective enough?"
