A scandal-driven Blanch DuBois comes to working-class New Orleans. Conflict-laden relationships ensue between and amongst herself, her sister Stella, brother-in-law Stanley and Stanley's best friend, Mitch

Notes Elia Kazan directed the premier and forever classic production of A Streetcar Named Desire in December 1947 at the Ethel Barrymore Theater. The powerhouse cast of Marlon Brando, Jessica Tandy, Kim Hunter and Karl Malden will always own and be intimately identified with the roles they originated. Ms Tandy received a 1948 Tony Award® for best actress in a play and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama went to author Williams

Streetcar has been revived five times on Broadway, two times in 1973 alone. Among those to reprise the famous roles have been Rosemary Harris, Lois Nettleton, Blythe Danner and Jessica Lange as Blanche; James Farentino, Alan Feinstein, Aidan Quinn and Alec Baldwin as Stanley; Patricia Connelly, Barbara Eda-Young, Frances McDormand and Amy Madigan as Stella; Phillip Bosco, John Newton, Frank Converse and Timothy Carhart as Mitch
