Caryn Elaine Johnson is back to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the show that thrust her to stardom. During this revival Ms Goldberg is going to revisit much of the original show's material and characters. That said, with previews starting just a few days after the presidential elections, would anybody be surprised if the diva adds some up-to-the-minute commentary?

Notes Not quite sure as yet which mantle Mr Nichols is going to wear for the revival. Though not credited as director for the original production of Whoopi, he served that function (according to the Internet Broadway Database), under the listing "Production supervised by." The original run opened at the Lyceum Theater in October 1984, and closed March 1985, after 156 performances
