Notes This will be the second Broadway revival of Who's
Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Albee's tough drama premiered at the
Billy Rose Theater in October 1962 and had a hit run of 662
performances. Arthur Hill and Uta Hagen won 1963
Tony Awards for their portrayals of George and Martha, as did Mr
Albee for best play, Alan Schneider for direction, and the team of
Richard Barr and Clinton Wilder for their producing efforts
The only Broadway revival was in Spring 1976 at
the Music Box Theater in a production directed by Mr
Albee. Colleen
Dewhurst and Ben Gazzara headed the cast; both received 1977
Tony Award nominations
