Synopsis
Set in World War II, conflict swirls
around a young naval lieutenant who stands trial for leading a
mutiny against the commander of his ship, defended by a somewhat
aloof and enigmatic young officer
Broadway Show History
Premiering on Broadway in January 1954, Caine
Mutiny had a first run of 455 performances at the
Plymouth Theater
anchored by John Hodiak, Lloyd Nolan and Henry Fonda. The play had a
216-performance revival at the Circle in the Square Theater in 1983,
with Jay O Sanders, Michael Moriarity and John Rubenstein heading
the cast. That production was nominated for a
1983 Tony Award for Best
