Synopsis
The Drowsy Chaperone is kind of in the, well, show-within-a-show, within-a-show
tradition. As a narrator, the man in the chair, tells the audience
about his favorite Broadway musical experience, The Drowsy
Chaperone, the audience learns about the backstage and offstage
lives of its characters
The Road to Broadway
The Drowsy Chaperone had a "pre-Broadway" run at LA's
Ahmanson
Theatre from November 10 thru December 24, 2005. What started
out as a little musical gift to a friend in 1998, grew into a
fully-staged production, premiering at Toronto's
Fringe
Theatre Festival in 1999
A Bit of Trivia
After the Nov 22nd performance during the Los Angeles run, the
audience was treated to a special encore when show producer Roy
Miller was married onstage to fiance Heather Hawkins. Cast member Bob Martin
performed the ceremony
