Synopsis John is a salesman who, after the death of his wife and some strange goings on at home, seeks help from Ian, a Dublin therapist. From the press release, "What begins as just an unusual encounter becomes a desperate struggle between the living and the dead, a struggle which will shape and define both men for the rest of their lives"

Road to Broadway

Shining City premiered at London's Royal Court Theatre in June 2004, subsequently having its Irish premiere as part of the Dublin Theatre Festival later that same Fall. The show has a pre-Broadway run at San Francisco's Curran Theatre in September 2005

The show was originally to be produced by Barry and Fran Weissler and begin previews October 18, 2005 for a November 10th opening at the Schoenfeld Theater. Postponement was announced on August 4th. According to Playbill reasons given were "certain critical production schedules" that "could not be resolved in time to meet the current schedule
