Synopsis

Rob Gordon is a pop-rock music lover and record store owner in his thirties who likes to make "Top Five" lists. He started his current list, his top five worst breakups, because girlfriend Laura walked out on him. As he works through it he faces the fact that there might be more to life than music, such as becoming an adult

The Road to Broadway

High Fidelity proves that for some productions it isn't too hard to get to Broadway. Based on a novel by British author Nick Hornby, the only twists and turns taken have been with the setting: from the author's native England, to the American film's Chicago location, then on to the musical adaptations New York City record shop

Stephen Frears directed John Cusack as Rob and Iben Hjejle as Laura in the 2000 film. For a film that flew way under the radar, grossing not quite $30 million during its theatrical release, it had a great featured cast including Jack Black, Joan Cusack, Tim Robbins and Catherine Zeta-Jones

The show will have a pre-Broadway run at Boston's Colonial Theater in September/October 2006
