Synopsis
Oh, you know the story. It's all that
"Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!" and "Spoonful of Medicine"
stuff when the original super nanny arrives to enchant the children
of a single father. And she didn't do such a bad job with the father
either
Road to Broadway
We first listed Mary Poppins on the
On the Way page back in the Spring of 2003, long, long before it
started its run at London's Prince
Edward Theatre in December 2004. Here's what we said as we
tracked it:
What happens when creative powerhouses Disney
and Cameron Mackintosh get together? How about
supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!?! Set for a London run
in December 2004 at the
Prince
Edward Theatre, we believe it will come across the pond soon
thereafter. As of June 2004 Laura Michelle Kelly, recently seen as
Hodel in the revival of
Fiddler on the Roof,
was prepping for the London production and rumored to travel with
the show to New York. The word in Spring 2005 is that the production
is still possible for 2005-2006 season
Note
Did you know that the 1964 film was based on the children's books by
P L (Pamela Lyndon) Travers?
