Synopsis
From the press release: "After
Miss Julie is a re-imagining of August Strindberg's Miss
Julie, unfolding on the night of the British Labour Party's
landslide victory in 1945. It tells the tale of an upper-class young
woman's tragic midsummer fling with a chauffeur" Notes
The Roundabout was forced to cancel the 2003 run of
Miss Julie when star
Natasha Richardson dropped out of the production.
Playbill then reported that the Company might be readying a new
version for Fall 2005 at
Studio
54
Then, After Miss Julie was
announced and was originally to enter
previews at the Biltmore
Theater April 13, 2005 for a May 3rd opening in a limited run
through July 2nd. For whatever reason, the slot went to
Shining City. We had
an inkling at the time that Julie might show up on the
Broadway boards sometime in 2007, but apparently were off the mark
by a couple of years |
