Synopsis
Lend Me a Tenor is a farce
centered on the highly anticipated appearance of "Il Stupendo",
world-famous tenor Tito Merelli, at a benefit performance of
Otello for the Cleveland Opera Company. Events leading up to
curtain time are fairly routine until, well, stuff happens. Merelli
winds up spaced out on tranqs, Max takes the stage as Otello and all
the elements of a good farce ensue
The Road to Broadway
Not too long for this production of
Tenor. Summer 2009 readings in New York led directly to an
anticipated Feb '10 preview date that was subsequently pushed back
just a smidge. Attached at that time were T R Knight, Alfred Molina
and Marian Seldes, along with Mr Shaloub and Ms Maxwell
