Synopsis
The premise is simple: men and women
-- especially men -- become confused when it comes to emotions and
attractions, most notably during a night on a summer's weekend
Broadway Show History
Surprisingly, to us at least, this is
the first Broadway revival of A Little Night Music in the
more than 25 years since the first production opened at the Shubert
Theater on February 25, 1973. That production, produced and directed
by Hal Prince, starred Hermoine Gingold as Madame Armfeldt, Glynis
Johns as Desiree and Len Cariou as Frederick Egerman. garnered 12
1973 Tony® nominations,
winning six awards: best musical, best book, best score, Glynis
Johns for best actress in a musical, Patricia Elliott as featured
actress, and Florence Klotz for costume design
Notes
A Little Night Music is based on the 1955 Ingmar Bergman film
