Synopsis

Jack Albertson plays Ed Brown, the cantankerous owner of a run down garage. Chico (Freddie Prinze), is a young, energetic, hard-working chicano. As Ed sees all the effort Chico has put in, he begins to warm to Chico...

Ooops! That's the sitcom Chico and the Man

And it very well sums up the plot of Superior Donuts. Arthur Przybyszewski  owns a run-down Chicago donut shop. Franco, his young, energetic, hard-working African-American employee, wants to change it. A few troubles are thrown in for the drama quotient as in any good sitcom

The Road to Broadway

Superior Donuts was originally staged by Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre Company from June 19 thru August 24, 2008. All original cast members return in the Broadway production
