Synopsis
Rodolpho is "not right," Eddie
Carbone tells his niece Catherine as he sees her falling in love
with the young Italian immigrant The
scene is Red Hook, the Brooklyn docks, hard by the Gowanus Canal
during the gritty 1950s. Eddie and his wife Beatrice have taken in
her orphaned niece Catherine, who has a young girl's view of their
neighborhood.
Eddie loves Catherine, but maybe more
than would be proper as a surrogate father. His opposition to
Catherine's romance with Rodolpho, and subsequent decision to marry
him, leads Eddie to take drastic steps to break the attraction.
It leads to tragedy Broadway
