Synopsis
From the opera house in Paris to the Coney Island boardwalk?
Yep, that's the setting for the long-awaited follow-up to
Phantom of the
Opera. Though Andrew Lloyd Weber refuses to call this a
sequel, we do know that at least three of the characters return from
the original
The Road to Broadway
Seems simple:
Open London March 2010. Broadway casting March and April 2010 for
November 11 previews...
But sometimes not so much. After opening to very, erm, mixed
reviews, the production hit a stumbling block: Mr Lloyd Weber. The
Really Useful Group is spinning that, beset
with health problems and a full-time commitment to the BBC's Over
the Rainbow, something just had to give and it was Love Never
Dies. Prior to that reports out of London portrayed a seeming
scramble to get the show together enough for its New York run, with
Mr Lloy Webber on the verge of completely scrapping it. Now set for Spring 2011...maybe
