Barks
Broadway Barks is a special event hosted by Bernadette
Peters and Mary Tyler Moore. It features a star-studded line up
(everybody comes out for this one) of their Broadway friends for
this seventh annual pet adopt-a-thon. And that's what they are there
for: to raise the awareness of and to find homes for sheltered cats
and dogs
Did I mention a star-studded line up? Scheduled to appear as
celebrity pet presenters (that's celebrities who present pets, not
celebrity pets presented by some other folk) this year are: Ashanti,
Elizabeth Ashley, Jayne Atkinson, Bill Berloni, Stephanie J Block,
Matt Cavanaugh, Michael Cerveris, Gavin Creel, Hope Davis, Christine
Ebersole, Rupert Everett, Tovah Feldshuh, Sutton Foster, John
Glover, Lauren Graham, Kate Jennings Grant, Haydn Gwynne, Ernie
Hudson, Allison Janney, Gregory Jbara, Andy Karl, Marc Kudisch,
Angela Lansbury, Michael Mastro, Audra McDonald, Judy McLane,
Constantine Maroulis, Becki Newton, Karen Olivo, David Hyde Pierce,
Alice Ripley, Bryce Ryness, Christopher Sieber, J Robert Spencer,
Will Swenson, John Tartaglia, Harriet Walter, Chandler Williams and many more. Whew! This is star power,
but not even these folks can say No! to Ms Peters or Ms Moore
The event includes the usual education component, the topic here, of
course, is spaying and neutering. More than 20 animal shelters and
agencies will be represented. Quite a few specializing in specific
breeds, such as Boxer, Jack Russell, Great Dane, Greyhound and
Maltese. It all starts at 3:30P with celebrity pet presentations at
5:30P
