Synopsis
It's a few years past the time in
Brighton Beach Memoirs. Eugene and Stanley discover the problems
they should have known would crop up when using their parents'
trouble as a basis for comedic writing as they try to break into the
business
Broadway Show History
The original production of Neil
Simon's Broadway Bound debuted at the
Broadhurst Theater on
December 4th, 1986. The production had a 756-performance run and
along the way Linda Lavin (Kate) and John Randolph (Ben) took home
1987 Tony Awards®, she
for best actress in a play, her for best featured actor
The Road to Broadway
It just wasn't meant to be. Bound and
its companion,
Brighton Beach Memoirs, sat on our Lost in Development page
for almost ten
years as will it or will it not played out. Beach opened and
closed after nine performances; Bound never made it to the
boards
