The oft-performed classic based on the relationship of a dedicated young teacher, Annie Sullivan, and Helen Keller, her deaf and blind pupil

Notes  Anne Bancroft and Patty Duke originated the roles of Annie Sullivan and Helen Keller October 19, 1959, at the now gone Playhouse Theater. Directed by Arthur Penn, the show ran for a staggering 719 performances and garnered six Tony Awards including best play, best actress for Ms Bancroft and best direction for Mr Penn. Surprisingly, this production is the first Broadway revival of the show
